The Awards of Science & Maths Excellence - What Now?
Please note! You need to be registered on the DPS Programme to apply for an Award of Science & Maths Excellence. If you or a colleague attended a training day on behalf of your school, then your school is already registered.If you're unsure about your registration status, please call us on 01-6073184.
Hold your own celebration!
Why not organise an end of year party to celebrate your impending achievement! Invite the parents and local community to the school so the children can show off all their hard work and put the plaque up on the day & if you fill out the online evaluation form in May, you will receive certificates of participation for each child. Don’t forget, take pictures of your celebration day and send into us!
In order for us to anticipate the volume of logs we are going to receive and assess we need to know if your school will be applying for the Award of Science and Maths Excellence. To do this we need to know how many applications to expect so all schools MUST register their intention to apply for the award. Please follow the steps below to apply for your Award of Science & Maths Excellence.

| By March 26th 2010 Discover Primary Science will need to know of your school’s intention to prepare and submit a Discovery Log. You will be able to apply online from January 6th until March 26th. Alternatively, you will be able to phone in your intention to apply to 01-607 3184. An application form will be sent out to all applicants close to the submission date. |

| Your Discovery Log is a key aspect of your application for an Award and should provide all the evidence the judging panel needs to demonstrate that your school meets all of the criteria for an Award of Science & Maths Excellence. NB: Discovery Logs must be received in full by 23rd April 2010 – there will be no opportunity to re-submit or substantiate evidence once the application has been made. If evidence is not apparent, an Award cannot be achieved.
