Primary School Nature Days & Environmental Camps at Killarney National Park Education Centre.

Bring your class to explore the natural environment in Ireland's premier national park. All activities are linked to SESE. They can investigate habitats and wildlife at first hand, use mammal traps, microscopes and pooters, do pond-dipping, scavenger hunts and experiments and, if they are lucky, see live wild animals!

We are a designated Discover Primary Science Centre; a visit to us helps achieve your "Award of Excellence in Science & Maths" under the DPSM scheme.

We also run Environmental Camps during the Easter, Summer and Halloween holidays.

Lifetime Lab

Lifetime Lab

Cork Primary Science on Show Internationally
Primary School children in Luxembourg will get the opportunity to experience hands on science and maths workshops Cork style as local primary science centre Lifetime Lab participates in Discovering the World Week from 26th to 30th March.

Discovering the World is a science themed series of events and activities centred on delivering international educational experiences to primary school children in Luxembourg with participants selected from countries all over Europe. Lifetime Lab @ Old Cork Waterworks was specifically identified as an ideal candidate for its "hands on" approach to promoting science and maths and is the only centre from Ireland and Britain to have been invited.

Speaking about the opportunity Mervyn Horgan, Manager of Lifetime Lab said "The invitation is a complement to our education programmes, to be identified internationally and invited to participate is a testament to the success of Lifetime Lab." He further said "Close to 8,000 primary school children, from senior infants to sixth class experience a positive experience of science, maths, technology and engineering, you could say we are a science nursery, inspiring the minds of the future".

Lifetime Lab will deliver two distinct hands on workshops, "MathsWorks" explores a multi sensory approach to primary maths and "Simple Circuits" themed on electricity, to over 1000 children while in Luxembourg.

Airfield - Closed until spring 2013

Airfield - Dundrum

Alive and Growing
Airfield is pleased to announce the birth of Airfield's first-born calf of the season. Our herd is holidaying in the country, under the watchful eye of Fintan and his family on his farm in Kilkenny as we prepare for construction work to commence on- site. Our ewes have also begun to give birth and we can't wait to have them all back here when we re-open next year.

Great care will be taken throughout to ensure the maintenance and development of Airfield’s natural resources including our habitats, hedgerows and grazing land because we do not take one bit of this gift for granted.

We hear from schools and visitors that you miss us and we certainly miss you. We are looking forward to seeing you all here at Airfield next year when we can enjoy our new improved facilities together. You can follow our progress on
