Register for our Continued Professional Development Programme of Support 2014/15
Many schools contact us looking for help in delivering the science and maths curriculum in schools. How to make it more interesting, relevant and visual for their students? We hope to help with this and have been doing so for over 10 years. Discover Primary Science and Maths (DPSM) is the national programme, run by Science Foundation Ireland, to foster interest in science, technology engineering and maths amongst children in primary schools. Over the last 10 years thousands of schools have engaged with the programme either in the training offered or the Awards of Science and Maths Excellence. Since 2010 the programme has been run in conjunction with the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO) Ireland which uses space to inspire and engage young people in their science and technology in the world around them.
This year, in partnership with ESERO Ireland, we are offering a programme of science and maths support (including CPD) to schools which did not receive one of our workshops during the 2013/14 academic year.

Awards of Science & Maths Excellence 2015

We were delighted that 517 schools put in an amazing amount of effort to their award applications in 2014 and we look forward to continuing to recognise the effort of schools around the country in 2015.
Each year it is so encouraging to see both schools that have really captured a whole school approach to engaging students in science, and schools that are starting this journey with a few of their classes. This year to ensure we continue to recognise all this effort, two awards will be available as follows:
- A Certificate of STEM work in school
- A Plaque of STEM Excellence for deeper engagement, whole school involvement and external science engagement
From 5th January until 20th March 2015 you can register your school's intention to apply on the website so now is the time to start recording and compiling your STEM work for your log of evidence. You can read all the details here.
Good luck!
